Creating Your Best Life

Can you honestly say that you are living your best life at this very minute? Your best life doesn’t happen by accident; it is something you intentionally craft. While I have had many wonderful, meaningful moments throughout my entire life, it wasn’t until I became intentional about living each day in alignment with my values that I realized I could live my best life every day.

I have a number of coaching clients who have carefully worked to craft their best lives and are today living a very different reality than what they had lived in the past. Today, though, I celebrate my husband and two sons who are all currently living their best lives (and whose stories I can share):

  • My husband, Bradford, started a new job this week at EnviroSpark, a company with a two-fold mission to raise awareness of the benefits of electric vehicles and to increase the availability of EV charging infrastructure. He was ready to build on the solid foundation in the electric vehicle industry he had created during his time working at Tesla and take his career up a notch. He carefully spent months intentionally searching for an organization that aligns with his beliefs and values as well as would take his skills to the next level. He also wanted his evenings, holidays, and weekends back to be with family. He built knowledge and skills at Tesla, networked with friends and colleagues and, in the end, found a job that rejuvenates him.

  • My older son, Zachary, is a golf aficionado. He loves playing the sport and working for country clubs where he can delight members with the best experience possible. This week he is working the Masters Tournament in Augusta in the Members-Only Professional Shop, a dream-come-true for anyone with his interests. He spent more than a year earning this role through grit and a good deal of networking. He has been very busy this week but when he does contacts us, you can feel his excitement about the opportunities he has had to serve members and their guests who attend the tournament.

  • My younger son, Josh, is spending his Spring Break touring Japan. Last year when he decided he wanted to go, we told him he’d need to spend the summer earning his spending money for the trip. He also would need to do volunteer work before we would allow him to go on the trip. He worked hard all summer and into the fall at Chick-fil-A to earn the money to go. He also learned some powerful leadership skills and work ethic along the way. He went on a mission trip to Puerto Rico where he served a church and the local community. Today he is thrilled to be totally immersed in Japanese culture, not to mention the sheer number of super cars he gets to see each day that fill his heart with joy.

What did all three have in common? They made a choice to make it happen. They spent time discovering what they enjoy, understanding their values, acquiring skills and experiences needed to fulfill their dream, and then they manifested them.

What do you need to do to create your best life? What stands in the way of your doing that? Please reach out if you want someone to come alongside you in the journey to your best life.
