I get by with a little help from my friends
I woke up this morning and realized today is a big day! While I love Cinco de Mayo as much as the next person, my excitement is because today is the three-month anniversary of my going out on my own to pursue my passion of helping my clients unlock not only their potential but the potential of those people around them.
What have I been doing over the past 3 months? It’s been a whirlwind. My original version of this post looked like one of those Oscar speeches where the actor gets yanked off the stage for thanking too many people. What I can say is I am so grateful to all of my friends, clients, colleagues and family who have rallied around me over the past three months. Your phone calls, video conferences, lunch and dinner meetings, happy hours (both virtual and in person), emails, and texts have meant the world to me. Most of all, I am grateful to my amazing husband Bradford Williams and sons Zachary Williams and Joshua Williams for your unwavering support.
Over the past three months, my adventures began with a birthday trip to Napa with my bestie Michelle Byrd. We had a blast touring wine country and enjoying downtime at spas. We also had one power day where we met up with three additional powerhouse executives which felt somewhat reminiscent of Amy Poehler’s movie Wine Country. It was a blast spending time with Joanne Peterson, Sarah Lucas Ruhland, and Maya Kraft.
I also formed a coaching community with some amazing coaching talent to support each other as we each pursue our passion of helping leaders unleash their potential. I am so grateful for the powerful sense of community that they have provided. Karen Schnur, Kathy Lu, Kim Van Lue, and Kari Beam—I am so grateful for all of you.
I also went on a week-long silent retreat to Ignatius House Jesuit Retreat Center in Sandy Springs, Georgia where I completely unplugged. There I enjoyed nature, painted watercolors, mediated and spent time in quiet contemplation as I prepared to launch my business.
Speaking of launching my business, under the tutelage of the creative genius, Tina Tait, we spent months designing my website where she brought in the additional artistic talents of photographer Robin Henson and makeup artist Fluffy from Haus of Fluff. They made me laugh and pushed me to think outside the box as we thought through the value proposition behind Unleashed Potential.
I have not even come close to naming a fraction of the friends and family who have rallied around me over the past few months but please know that I am so grateful for each and every one of you.
More than that, I had the privilege to do what I love most. Every. Single. Day. I worked with my clients as both an executive coach and consultant to unleash their potential. I sit in awe today at how quickly this business has taken off because of people like all of you. Today I listen to the Beatles sing “I get by with a little help from my friends” as I drink a toast to all of the friends, clients, colleagues and family who have made the past three months a dream come true. I am so grateful for all of you.
