Ticker Tape & Wine

I remember a few years ago, reading an article about a ticker-tape parade at the end of World War II. The great joy could be seen in the pictures of the crowd with people hugging and celebrating together. I remember at the time, wondering to myself,

“When will I have my ticker tape parade?”

I was in a time of deep soul-searching, struggling to find my way and doing everything I could NOT to follow what I knew my heart was calling me to do.

A year ago I followed that calling and I sit here today embracing a joy I never imagined. Not every day is perfect, and it may not be the ticker-tape parade I imagined, but my quiet celebration at the end of week reminds me each time that I chose the path of joy, and I would do it again.
